Do you have a brass outdoor tap? Is it a standard type? It could have 1/2 BSP stamped on it – this relates to the inlet, the size of the thread that the tap screws into on the wall. These normally have a 3/4 BSP outlet size – this is what this product fits.

It is commonly referred to in 'inch' terms but does not correspond directly to the diameter you would measure with a ruler or vernier calipers. The diameter is normally 1/4" or so larger to accommodate the material required for a thread.
